PTGi is a provider of advanced telecommunication services to customers in the US and globally. 

  • As President and Chief Executive Officer, led a $400 million division of PTGi that provides voice and data services to telecommunication service providers around the world.

  • Developed the strategic direction for the division to combine and modernized the network platforms and prepare the company for sale.

  • Developed and implemented a network and system integration plan that improved the efficiency of the business and drove the reduction of $3 million in annual expenses.

  • Assisted in the marketing of several PTGi business units for sale of which 3 were profitably sold – with specific responsibility for designing management presentations, creating the division’s data room, and supporting due diligence activities.

Arbinet was a publicly traded international telecommunications company with $300M+ of gross revenue providing voice and data services to telecommunication service providers globally.


  • As President and CEO, strategically developed and implemented Arbinet's strategy and provided oversight of company technology-driven operations.

  • Created the vision and the new strategic direction for the company.

  • Refocused business on core competencies and divested or shut down non-core product lines.


  • Built experienced, dynamic public company Leadership Team, including CFO, General Counsel, and CTO.

  • Evaluated, developed, and launched new products that stabilized voice revenue.

PRC (currently owned by Alorica) provides outsourced customer contact center, outbound sales and marketing, and business process services for Fortune 500 and other major brands, employing over 10,000 people with operations in the US and subcontractors in the Philippines, India and the Dominican Republic.


  • As a member of CXO, was a key executive responsible for the restructuring of PRC.

  • Responsible for closing or selling 10 call center facilities, increasing capacity utilization from 70% to 90%.

  • Negotiated key customer contracts instrumental in sustaining a profitable revenue stream.

  • Improved customer acquisition and contract management processes ensuring profitability of customers.

Pac-West Telecomm is a provider of local exchange telecommunication services to businesses in the western United States.


As a member of CXO, performed the COO function:

  • Interim COO, Bankruptcy Restructuring for Competitive Local Exchange Company (Pac West Telecom).
    • Reduced expesnses 35% by reducing real estate and IT system costs, and streamlining the entire organization.
    • Halted the decline in revenue by developing a new product road map and sales strategy.
    • Created post emergence business plan and recruited new CEO.

As a member of CTA, performed the CEO role at Voxpath, a provider of hardware and software to hosted PBX telecommunication service providers.


  • Developed strategic direction for Voxpath that resulted in transforming business from a hardware vendor to a service provider to meet the market demand for comprehensive solutions.

  • Launched hosted PBX services in 3 Texas markets.

  • Successfully raised $11 million in new equity funding from private equity funds.






Restructuring and Operational Oversight Executive Consultant

Residential Communications Network (RCN currently owned by ABRY Partners)

Provided Operational Oversight, Bankruptcy Restructuring for Competitive Cable TV and Telecommunications Services Provider.

  • As a member of CTA, provided Restructuring and Operational Oversight to Competitive Cable TV and Telecommunications Services Provider.
  • Reduced annual operating expenses $75 million by implementing enhanced engineering and operations processes.
  • Successfully marketed and sold 2 operating markets valued at a total of $200 million.
  • Acquired a key New York City metro fiber provider that enhanced RCN’s enterprise and F500 revenue.
  • Advised the company on the strategic importance of separating the fiber transport business from the Cable TV business into 2 separate business units, which ultimately increased RCN’s company valuation.

Pathnet was a provider of high quality, low cost, long haul telecommunications capacity to U.S. 2nd and 3rd tier markets. They ceased operations in 2002.


Served as Executive Vice President, Network Services and Systems (2000-2002).
Served as Sr. Vice President, Network Engineering and Construction (1999-2000).


Led the team responsible for the planning, engineering, construction, and operations of Pathnet’s network:

  • Created a robust network engineering and construction organization.

  • Built 2,000 miles of fiber optic network capacity.

  • Launched network services in 50 markets in the United States.

  • Constructed and activated 50 customer co-location sites.

  • Built and staffed a state-of-the-art 24/7 network operations center.

During the 1990’s, MCI/WorldCom was the second largest American long distance telephone company (after AT&T).


While at MCI/WorldCom held multiple positions over the 11 years of employment:

  • Director of Transmission Engineering (1997-1999) Managed team of 350 employees and contractors and a capital budget of $500 million for building MCI’s fiber optic transport network, deploying the cutting edge technologies of the time.
